Treating Toe Nail Fungus with Laser Treatments; Fort Collins Med Spa

Do you have one or more toe nails that are: thickened, brittle/crumbly/ragged, distorted in shape, dull with no shine, or a dark color caused by debris building up under your nail? If so, you may have onychomycosis, also known as nail fungus. It can affect several nails, but not usually all of them. Toe nail fungus is so common that it is possible to not be aware that it is happening to you!

Nail fungus begins as a white or yellow spot under the tip of your toenail. As the fungal infection goes deeper, nail fungus may cause your nail to discolor, thicken and crumble at the edge. Toe nail fungus thrives in the warm, moist environment of socks and shoes. Sound familiar? Not to worry, Advanced Aesthetics in Fort Collins can help!

Toe nail fungus can be treated with lasers, which kill the fungus. In a short period of time, the laser can kill the fungus and completely remove it from the nails. The benefit to laser treatment is that the toenail and skin surrounding the toe are unharmed! There is no pain whatsoever during or after the treatment, which typically lasts around 30 minutes per treatment, and three treatments are recommended for best results.. For most people, the three 30 minute laser treatments will kill the fungus and allow their toe nails to grow normally and healthy again.

There are no current restrictions on age or health to receive laser treatment for toe nail fungus, because there are no negative side effects (unlike prescription drugs prescribed for toenail fungus.) This will allow those who are unable to take certain drugs for toenail fungus to likely qualify for laser treatment.
