There is a lot more to washing your face then just soap and water. To properly cleanse your face, there are multiple factors at play including cleanser ingredients and even water temperature. Here are some tips to take the best care of your face.
First, do not scrub your face or use harsh products. This can irritate the sensitive facial skin. We can help you choose the products that are best for your skin type and the skin challenges you have. Our goal is always to educate, even with brands we may not carry.
Then, gently splash lukewarm water on your face. Use just the tips of your fingers to apply your cleanser.
No matter what, do not scrub your skin. Scrubbing causes irritation and inflammation.
After cleansing, rinse your face with lukewarm water. Then pat your face dry with paper towels (do not rub). Using paper towels instead of a bath towel prevents extra bacteria from transferring from the towel to your face.
Don’t forget those serums. These products typically have the highest concentration of active ingredients and they are the most powerful tool in the skin care regimen.
Then moisturize! Even oily skin needs to be in balance with the right moisturizer. Gently apply cream near your eyes, as the skin in this area is very delicate.
Wash your face twice a day and also after you work up a sweat. Sweat, especially when compounded by a hat or helmet, irritates the skin. Wash as soon as possible after you become sweaty. Morning and night time facial washing, in addition to after sweating, will help keep your face clean but not overly dry from too much washing.
